The Color Of Chips
Film, music and imagination collide to present the greatest films never made.
The Unfilmambles is a combination of unique audio-visual performances, musical maestros and BBC 6 Music favourites Wrangler (pictured, featuring Cabaret Voltaire’s Stephen Mallinder) plus Francesca and Mica Levi (composer, Under the Skin Original Soundtrack, Jackie Original Soundtrack) delve into the history of cinema to bring two lost film concepts to life in this unmissable experience that takes cinema to the next level.
Attracting the likes of visionary Godfather Trilogy director Francis Ford Coppola and Quadrophenia’s Franc Roddam, The Tourist is regarded among the greatest sci-fi scripts ever written, but ultimately fell into production limbo. Joining forces with Tash Tung and Dan Conway, Wrangler present the film for the very first time through a pioneering live electronic soundtrack and stunning visuals.
Composer Mica Levi collaborates with her sister Francesca on The Colour of Chips, a highly original re-imagining of brilliant Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov’s most famous work The Colour of Pomegranates. Set in the North of England with impressive visuals to match, the result is obscure-gem-turned-lost-British-classic.
Commissioned by Live Cinema UK in partnership with CineCity Brighton and HOME. Supported by This Way Up Exhibition Innovation Fund, a partner of the BFI Film Audience Network, and Arts Council England.
The film was also selected as a part of Rotterdam International Film Festival 2019 and also has crossed the ocean to Australia to be a part of garden reflexxx
